As the edit of the pictures was to be done during 12.30 and 2.30 I had a free morning to help the guys out in the green screen, so firstly I arrived 10minutes early to ensure that I could pick up the keys to the gatehouse and bring all the green screen equipment over. Once the equipment had been carted over by me Dan and Chris we began to set the equipment up with the assistance of Ciaran.
Once the majority of the rigging was done James arrived to help put the finishing touches to setting up the equipment and also ensuring all the technical equipment was set up and put in the right place, during the time setting up I helped to set up the green screen, camera, lights and the vision mixer.
Once it was all in place the visitors began to arrive initially struggling with time, we managed to pull a decent presentation together in which I helped by describing how the weather worked at ITV and showed them a short video in which Bob Crampton explained how he uses the green screen. On the second sitting of the green screen we had lots of spare time and had to try and make the session last longer so thinking on my feet I grabbed my laptop and showed them the music video I had been working on to show them the sort of things that is possible with green screen, I gave them a talk on what I did and how I did it. Me and Ciaran then continued to talk to them about the different areas of the media industry from audio, to editing.
After all the green screen viewings were finished I had the task of putting the pictures shot by Nathan to music so me and Matt worked together to create a small piece for them to watch.
Overall it was an enjoyable day and I learned a lot on the values of thinking on your feet I was particularly pleased that I gave an off the cuff presentation as this is something im not keen on doing as I dont particularly like public speaking, so it was a good day with lots of new experiences!! Thanks to everyone that helped out!
